Web Server

I go into the control panels on my Mac and try to start up web sharing but it just says that it is starting up and never does. If I shut the control panels then when I open it back up it says web sharing is off again. Any ideas?

Sure, how about filling in a few gaps so I know what's up...

Is your interent connection working? Are you sure?
Are you on a LAN?
Behind a firewall?
Are you using Dial-up?
What version of OSX are you using?
How much time do you wait before you cancel the web startup?
Are you using any other webserving software on the machine which might be sharing the same port? (ie FileMaker Pro, WebStar, etc)
Do you have any HTML files in your site folder?

Those questions should get us started...
