Webcams

I just got my new mac (iMac G5 if that makes a difference) and want to use a webcam on it..and have a few questions-
1. Is anyone aware if there is a driver to run the Sony Eyetoy on a mac?
2. Of not does anyone know where to get cheap cheap cheap cams that will work on mac?
3. I want to stream my cam thorugh a website..is this possibe or can i only use iChat?

Both links are for USB cam drivers. You could try and find a cam that's listed in their "Supported Cams" list.

The only major maker I know of who makes a good quality USB cam that's Mac-compatible from the factory and easily found (local stores) is Logitech, and that's only certain models of theirs (Quickcam Pro 4000, Quickcam Pro - Notebooks, Quickcam Zoom, Quickcam Orbit). Expect to spend at least $80, up to $130 for one of those Logitechs. However...Logitech doesn't support OS X above 10.2.6 (according to their support site), though the cams should work just fine under Panther.

You might still be able to find Orange Micro's iBot firewire cams out there, sometimes; but the price doesn't make them attractive at all. The only place I found online with any (possibly) is here. They want £79 for one, or about $152 USD. You might be able to find a used one on E-Bay.

For $125 to $150 you can grab the nicer iSight firewire cam from Apple. I'd suggest that above the rest.
