Websharing behind airport on comcast

I've been reading through several posts on here pertaining to port mapping, but I'm still not getting it.
Here's what I'm dealing with, Recently, Comcast shut down the multiple IP's our several different machines were using, and we had to figure out that we had to set up our network from cable modem to airport(and then to our wireless macs/pcs) and from the snow dual ethernet airport to a netgear hub/router (for a hardwired mac and a laptop dock.) now that it's set up like this, we are all served internal IP's via DHCP, rangine from 10.0.1.x on through, dynamically. I try to make the IP static on one machine (mine, g4 533 wirelessly connected) but when I do my macine can not access the network. I'm trying to set up port mapping on the airport, and so far just have made a port map for internet 8080 to go to port intranet 80. but I'm not sure what to put in for the IP in there, If it's supposed to be the airport's router? or a specific port map to a specific machine? I'm assuming I should be able to set it up so that http://xx.xxx.xx.xx:8080/10.0.1.x would then go to that specific mac and xxx.xx.xx.xx:8080/10.0.1.y would go to another specific machine. any help would be greatly appreciated thanks. And if anyone knows of a book that i should get my hands on as a primer or as good directions for a semi lame mac'er trying to network internally and externally in this manner would be cool thanks.

Much easier than that! No port mapping needed. Your problem is that you've got two routers in the loop. I'd recommend this: Use the Netgear as the router. Set it up to do your login/authentication through the Cable modem. Now, connect the airport base station to a LAN side port on the router. In the Airport Setup Software, turn off distributing IP addresses (which is the DHCP function). Now, although the laptops will still connect to the wireless network of the Airport-BS, use the Netgear router address as the gateway/router for the whole local net.

Note: port mapping would be used to direct incoming requests to a server set up to be within your local net, so that it would respond and send stuff outside your local net.

My mistake, the netgear is a switch/hub not a router. the only router is the airport, since this is the case how can I set up the network where I can access my specific tower through the airport as there is only one IP that is allowed to our comcast account, it has to belong to the airport (lest the other machines will not be able to access the network). Previous to Comcast locking our connection down to one IP, we were connecting from cable modem, to the switch, then to the swtict two machines and the airport which I was then conencted to wirelessly(along with three laptops). The only configuration we have been able to get to work since is connecting airport to the modem, and then the airport to the switch/wirelessly connected machines. Any clues? or any links I can go to to learn more?

Just a odd fact to tack on, I got my hands on a copy of ARD2.0 to experiment with, and yes I will either buy or delete it. ANyhow, funny fact is that I'm able to have someone (another comcast customer) who has ARD 2.0 actually see me and administer my computer (admin settings provisioned of course) Through the comcast connection in which I have no external IP, just the internal, he did so by entering http://my.ip.addy.here/10.0.1.3 and then my machines name showed up in his list... OVER MILES AWAY!!!! cool huh?
well anyhow, there are curently no ports that have been forwarded in the router(airport base station) and only the ciorrect ports are open on the tower's (his and mine, we can both administer each other), but I am still unable to provide web sharing/ftp/etc to anyone outside the base station.
