I run two mac from home, both have web sharing on, though one works with the computername.local/~username scheem, and the other does not.
the only difference I have been able to find thus far is that:
- for the computer where web sharing works, the access rights for the Sites folder are drwxr-xr-x+
- for the computer where web sharing does not work, the access rights for the Sites folder are drwxr-xr-x@
Things I would like to try:
- see what the @ access right symbol means
- change the @ to a + and see if that magically fixes the problem
- copy the access rights of the folder that works to the folder that does not (I tried copying the folder over, but that was not enough to fix the problem)
