Weird NFS privileges problem

Hi gang,

I have a very strange problem mounting NFS volumes from my Linux box. I re-installed OSX to move it to another partition. Before, it worked fine (10.2.6), but now this problem:

Used NFS manager to set it up, mount is fine in a shell, I can do anything from the shell (change to directory, copy files, delete files, whatever), but when I create a symlink to the desktop and try to open it, the system tells me that I don't have the permissions to do this.

I would consider this a bug in MacOS somewhere, really. Privileges in the Terminal and on the Desktop ought to be _identical_!

Or is it me? Any ideas?

I'm don't know what you should do, but I can help you out a little:

Did you revert to an earlier version of X, or did you just reinstall and upgrade? Was it at .2.6 before, or is this new? 10.2.6, like many 10.2 updates, has its share of problems, and this could be one. If possible, try using 10.2.5 or the last version you used.

Hi Arden,

was using 10.2.6 before. Guess I'll have to ways for the lil' black cat coming later this month (10.3)... ;-)

I've tried a multitude of settings, but this is so strange...
