WEP Linksys Problem

I just enabled WEP protection for my linksys router, the only problem i'm having is that my powerbook cannot connect to the internet with the password, i am typing in both the 128bit encryption keychain and the regular password to connect and nothing works. I tried LEAP, WPA, etc and all with the same results it doesn't work.

It works fine on my mom's laptop (windows xp) but not on mine.

It's a Linksys Wireless B router if that helps.

With wep, you enter the key (not the passphrase) to get access, and to enter the key you have to add the $ symbol to the front, to tell the machine the value you are entering is in hex. I had the same problem recently, and this was what i was doing wrong.
