What do I do with a WMV file?

I just bought a digital voice recorder (Olympus WS-300M) that is designed to send the recording to a Mac but it's in WMA (Windows Media Audio File) format. I installed the Windows Media Player for the Max OS X, and the file plays the recording OK, but I need to be able to work with it (to add it to a video audio track). Soundtrack Pro doesn't recognize it, I am assuming Final Cut Pro 5 won't wither. How do I work with it, or export it, or change it to a compatible format? or should I return the recorder to the store and buy something else?
I like the recorder, but it won't do me any good if I cannot work with its output.
