Hmmm, I just bought a PowerMac 800 in July and I think I might opt for the dual 867 now since I plan to run either Cinema 4D or Lightwave. And wait until something better comes along with a different processor.
I stil think the speaker on top looks ugly and is unnecessary. The aluminum look appears out of place, I think it's still the ugliest thing I seen from Apple since the beige stuff.

I am not totally enamored by the new look, but it doesn't look bad. My biggest complaint is still the 2 drive bays. I want at least 3. Everytime I look at my old PC, I see 2 full size drive bays and 2 of the smaller kind (zip / floppy size). I also checked the online Apple Store and it seems to me that you can no longer put a zip drive in? Can somebody verify this?

I'm more impressed with the inside (as far as I know - I don't consider myself an expert). The huge heat sink kind of suprised me, and the reorganization of the PCI slots was interesting and seemed to make more sense to me.

And I'm pretty sure the hard drives are mounted vertically now, from what I can tell from the QuickTime VR.

I'd buy one if I had the money / needed a new computer.

About the PCI, I rather think that PCI slots should be closer to the bottom than the top. Less cables hanging around the place. The placement seems to be a tradeoff to get the airflow to the CPUs.

well, I just bought a new 800 Mhz PowerMac G4 in July. I love my new PowerMac G4. It should serve me well until the G5s come out(in a couple of years, I hope)

Mac OS X runs fast in my Power Mac

can't wait for 10.2
