What exactly is Longhorn?

Wait one more year and we will all know for sure what that thing is/will be  Everything else is blah-blah...

PS. According to Mr.Steve Jobs as of WWDC 2004, Longhorn will be a photocopy of Mac OS X 10.4 (aka Tiger) :D  ;)

wait wait wait though, how come people have screens of Longhorn and stuff...I have a site with pics

well, for me it's a legitimate step as it was for Apple to include the dashboard. By this M$ officially admitted, that apples desktop looks great and is more efficient. This was actually enough for me. Now, if they copy it... ok let them do, as long it is not braking any laws and right protections.

There's not much to be said for Longhorn at the moment as it is still a very long way off. It will almost certainly have 64-bit support using fat binaries, much the same as Mac OS 10.4, and will also feature tighter integration of .Net, but anything else at this point is mostly guesswork.
I, for one, will not have much to say about it until I see it deployed.
