What the heck is WebDAV?

Everytime I try to upload files to iMac, this message pops up, and I have a difficult time trying to get rid of it, cause when I enter the Name/Password, it never works the first time around. I have to try several times, before the window closes.

What is it, and how do I get rid of it?

Basically WebDAV is an extention to HTTP that allows you to write files to a website. Basically think about it as file sharing over HTTP.
