Tismey would it be possible to get some sort of nice spicy ale? Nothing too light.

And the pretzel bowl seems to be empty...

Tom, that isn't a pretzel bowl. that is a beggar's collection plate. you are out on the street. Think of the bigger Herve's as being like the Castro, or Nob Hill, or the Harbor or etc - a distinct district or community of its own that is part of a larger community. In this case the district was named after its most noticible land mark - Herve's B&G. Make sense? i would think somebody from The City would have picked that up right away:D

I would be careful if i were you, that beggar might come back and think you took all his collections. ;)

You mean this is not like Burbon Street in New Orleans? I can't just call for a drink from anywhere?

We'll the experiment was worth a try. You can't blame a lush for trying... can you?

I didn't say that. i don't know if you can get a drink on the streets here or not. I just know we are not going to fill up that collection bowl with peanuts unless the beggar gives us permission. For all i know you can get better drinks out here. You will undoubtly run into some of your bar buddies while you are at it. But it isn't the same as being in the bar.
