Whats the point of the network Icon??

The network icon that appears next to your drive icons in the finder. What the heck is the point of it?

I'm on a network with one other 10.2 mac and two pcs, but they don't show up here [they do show up if you go the connect to server screen].

When you have drives mounted on the network, they should all show up under that icon.

hum..they're not showing up for me...

when i have network drives mounted, they show up next to my regular hard drives in the finder....

I think it's for when you login to a NetInfo domain or Server that is not actually on your hard drive and is located remotely.
