Where do I find my iChat pics & iTunes prefs?

I'm getting a new mac, but unfortunately, by the time the new one arrives, I won't have my current one...so using CarbonCopy Cloner is out of the question. I guess the only things that are "essential" are my contacts, my iChat preferences (everyone's pics, names (not screennames, but the names I've put in), etc, and my iTunes preferences (not only my mp3 files, but my equalizer settings, playlists, etc). Where do I find these, so that I can back them up, and just put them back into the same folder on my new computer?
 
that's it? And then I can just drop them back into the same folders on my new computer, and "replace" to overwrite the pre-existing file?
 
It didn't do anything, I made a new user account and tried them on my sister's iMac. I really need to get my iChat info onto the new computer (the pictures that I've assigned other people, as well as the names and other info), and I need my iTunes playlists and equalizer settings...it's too much to do by hand. Is there a folder where all the iChat images are kept?
 
is there any way that I can make a .dmg of my HD, put it on my iPod or my sister's iMac, and then use Carbon Copy to move it to my new Mac?
 
Don't see why not. Although I think the new Mac would benefit from a "proper" install etc. Of course you would need to boot from another device, since I don't think you can image the active Startup Disk (I could be completely wrong on that point though).
