I believe it should be the iBook 14''. From what I guess by now, the MacBook Pro should be the worst. But I could gladly stand corrected.

Nah, battery life the iBooks are the clear winners. The 14" has a larger battery, but the 12" has a less-powerhungry screen, so I think that'd even them out pretty much. If you want battery life, I'd get the 12" iBook, since it's also very portable at that.

Well, it ain't among the alternatives here, but dear God, have a glance at the Portable, from 1989:

"The best thing about the Portable was probably the five-to-ten-hour lead-acid (no memory effect!) battery. Options included an internal modem and either a numeric keypad or trackball."

LowEndMac (http://www.lowendmac.com/pb/portable.shtml).

When the iBook was utilizing the G3, it was the 14" model. I doubt it has changed much with the G4 versions. The power consumption difference between the 12" and 14" screens isn't as big of a difference as the extra battery capacity between those models, hence why the 14" slightly (we're talking minutes—maybe 10 or 15) edges it out.

That's the one thing I hate about my PB. The battery life isn't as good, but not bad. I've been getting 4.5 to 5 hours (light usage) consistently if I keep the brightness down and minimize the amount of widgets and applications that are open/running. Not quite enough, but usable. Thankfully you can switch the batteries without powering down.

Another advantage to the 14" model is the high-capacity battery that NewerTech makes (available at MacSales.com). I was getting 7 to 8 hours of light usage on my G3 iBook off it.

Well: http://www.apple.com/batteries/notebooks.html tells us this list exactly...

12” iBook - Up to 6 hours
14” iBook - Up to 6h
12” PowerBook G4 - Up to 5h
15” PowerBook G4 - Up to 4.5h
17” PowerBook G4 - Up to 4.5h
15” Titanium G4 - Up to 5h

So I'd say 12" and 14" iBook really doesn't matter.
