Why does my fan not turn off in deep sleep?

Since I've upgraded to OS X (I've 10.1.2 now), my fan never turns
off after going to deep sleep. It's worked in OS 9+. I've updated
my Adaptex SCSI 2906 card to the latest drivers. Couldn't find
anything on Apple or Adaptec website. Any suggestions?

I've been arguing with Apple about this since the Public Beta.

Unfortunately, we SCSI card users are left out in the cold with regard to "deep sleep." Apple blames the card for not being low-power safe, yet the card allows OS9 to go to deep sleep just fine.

The only solution is to remove the card. Some solution, eh? :(

I'm a little irked that SCSI users have been left out in the cold. SCSI does depend on vendors like Adaptec, but unless Apple gives more support, graphic and design users will have a legit reason not to upgrade to OS X. The SCSI scanners, CD-RW and peripherals can cost a lot to upgrade.

Yay Adaptec! They fixed the deep sleep with the update. My computer is asleep for the 1st time in ages!!!
