Wierd Mozilla 0.9.8 flaw...

OK, I've duplicated this problem on both my machines (see below)...

I'm using Mozilla Carbon 0.9.8. I've taken the leap of faith and made it my default browser, and for the most part it's responded admirably, especially for an app that still isn't officially finished...

Anyway, the thing that really bugs me about it is this - it won't load www.versiontracker.com . 9 out of 10 attempts fail. It occassionally works, but only when I first start the app, and then only some of the time...

Is anybody else having this problem? I'm a versiontracker junkie and don't want to resort to IE for my fix!

No problem loading it for me. iMac 233, OS 10.1.3, mozilla build id 2002020516.

?

I re-downloaded 0.9.8, installed, and it was the higher build 2002020516... But after viewing VersionTracker initially, viewing some more pages, and coming back to VT, it again wouldn't load.

So I went for one of the nightly builds (I believe it's 2002020613), and it seems to work much better.

BTW - another Mozilla question...

Is the scheduling notification working yet? I setup a bunch of sites with visual notification only when they changed, and haven't seen any yet.

What kind of message to you get? When I go to games.swirve.com for Utopia it sometimes says "connection refused" but I think thats from server overload. It does the same thing in OmniWeb. In IE it takes a LOOOOOOOONG time but finally loads. I think IE just re-attempts to connect where as OW and Moz just try once. Its a pain because that site has a lot of popups and ads that I can avoid with Moz or OW but unless I try in the dead of night its just impossible to surf when every other link I click refuses connection.

I'm now using one of the nightly builds (2002022613), and just discovered something cool about it that wasn't present in the last general purpose 0.9.8 build I was using...

Try going to an invalid site, for instance, the now defunct MacEdition...

The dialog box is now a sheet!

Nice to see the Mozilla OS X developers starting to embrace some OS X specific features!

Now if we could just get a really good decent Aqua theme, we'd be all set...

:)
