The difference in power supply specifications between Europe and USA can have strange effects. Here are two examples:
(a) If an internal motor is calibrated to the alternating power supply frequency in the USA, most probably it will not turn in Europe.
(b) If an internal heater unit is set for Europe power ratings, most probably it will heat like a candle in the USA.
Such issues often arise if the units in question use fancy transformers, etc.
So if your unit uses a transformer that supplies the scanner with fixed DC feed you are ok with respect to above examples.
Look at the transformer of your scanner, it should indicate an "IN" rating and an "OUT". Get a transformer that works in the country you wish to go to and has the same "OUT" setting. Also check that the "OUT" rating is DC (direct current).
