Will Apple play this game?

Quicksilver

Find a golden apple.
I want Apple to bring out an iPhone or somthing i have a nokia 3330 and then i heard these rumors late last year that apple is bringing out some kind of iPhone, so im waiting.

Would Apple ever do this? if not i think this is one game they should truly play especially when phones are coming closer to a convergence in computer technology.

It looks ugly but i think apple could do a much better job.

Unfortunatley this has some kind of competative nature towards the iPod. its also an mp3 player.

please somone has to know somthing..

I guess an Apple branded mobile phone won't happen anytime soon. What I personall hope for is better support in iSync for more phones, as there ARE pretty good and smart phones around for the GSM/GPRS networks:

SonyEricsson T68i - works with iSync, perfectly.
SE P800 - doesn't work with iSync.
Nokia 7650 - doesn't work with iSync.
Nokia 9210i - doesn't work with iSync.

They all have Bluetooth and use SyncML as their standard for synching - yet Apple hasn't updated iSync to make it compatible with newer phones. The T68i is basically a two year old design, and I hope Apple will work with the manufacturers more closely to make new phones compatible faster. I might want to switch to a P800 in about two or three months, so how's the chance that I might also USE it just like the T68i currently?

If Apple would do their own phone, I guess support for other phones would only get worse. Apple wants to be the Digital Hub of my Lifestyle? Make iSync compatible with about every phone out there that has Bluetooth...

What could come is an evolution of the iPod toward some type of media oriented PDA.

competition with the iPod!!! have you been reading anythign about this... it is ment for competition with the Game Boy Advance....

The N-gage is no contest against the Game Boy Advance, though. :) The GBA SP is going to blow it out of the water anyway.

Although i don't have the comment, i do recall Steve saying he doesn't want to turn the iPod into a PDA-Phone-Mp3 device.
The iPod will remain a music player much to some people's dismay.
It's unsure whether an apple branded phone would ko the competition. Probably give that same competition the grapefruits to make better phones.
However i'm more interested in what rendevous has to offer.

One thing is wrong with this statement; that is, "competition is bad", at least for Apple.

If Apple didn't have any competition, it would be Microsoft-ish.

Smalll, but important point!

You guys are right but do you also think that if there were an apple branded mobile phone it would also attract more customers to switch?

in respect to the competative nature comment i know it is also competing with the gameboy but in future a divice that has in all a so called multimedia entertainment device that does a round of operations would be a choice over all - in FUTURE - What i mean is im afraid that who ever gets this market first seems most likely to win it. this would also include the PDA market.

Please by all means this is only what i think at present, not what could happen in futere but i feel its somthing worth thinking about.

Bring first into a market is no gaurentee of success and usually means that someone comes a long and does it better later. The iPod is a case in point it wasn't the first Mp3 player nor the first with a hrad drive but it looked at the mistakes and made it better. To a certain extent you could say that Windows has done the same (except the making it better bit)

However I do think there is areal hunger for quality electronic equipment well designed and from a "sexy" brand. However that space is dominated by Sony and for me apple is more of a potential competitior to sony than to M$. Which makes the Apple support for Sony phones an intersting twist. Perhaps Apple is learning and watching, waiting for the right moment to release a killer device.

the iPhone I would like to see is compatibility with Dialpad or Net2Phone. Maybe there is one that I don't know about?
