Windows Emulation Software

Currently i know of virtual PC, but the only version i have tried is version 5. What im looking for is an emulation program that also uses my 3d card. I know that version 5 does not use my 17" powerbook's card as of this moment. I can't really find any information on if this is an option i need to enable or not. So if the case is that i don't have the software to do it, my next question would be is there emulation software that can do it? Any help is much appreciated.

Currently VPC 6.1.1 is the best x86-emulator. But none of the VPC versions supports 3d cards. I think they want to invent this in the VPC 7.x versions. However, there is no way to use your 3d card in any emulator. Sounds to me like you want to play some of your windows games on your mac. Believe me, the cheapest and easiest way is to use a cheap peecee box for this.

Dead right, Zammy-Sam. I've got Virtual PC 6.1 and it's not going to cut it with games.

I started a thread on the update to Virtual PC 7 and it may be that Microsoft are looking at linking Windows through to gpu direct.

But if it's just day-to-day stuff and testing, then you might want to download Remote Desktop Connection and run it from a friends pc like I do.

One caveat; you're going to need Windows 2000 Server [or something!] with Terminal Services set up...

... or just WinXP

Windows XP Pro. I don't think the regular version has the bit's 'n' bobs like Terminal Services.

Listen to me, I'm sounding like some total techo-prat .. sorry! Just ignore me

You can use remote desktop in XP home.

Yes, there's a Remote Desktop Connection client for just about every Windows version, but I don't think it comes with the Terminal Services thingamajig.

If I'm wrong, corrections welcome...

awww too bad you can't be using the computer your connecting to, that would have worked just great for me  oh well, back to the search
