Working on a PC at work, I have this happen a lot. The application(Visual Studio.NET) hoggs all CPU as it loads, the GUI goes white because it's not updated, and everything doesn't respond.

I just think that this is funny that in XP they still can't get it right. Check the attachment.

In OS X, even if the window doesn't update, it still shows what was last drawn.

HAaAHaHAAHaAHa. I have a Dell PC in my office, but I've blown Windows right off the hard drive and installed Slackware 9.1 w/ KDE 3.2rc1. The other techs have yet to put on a Tux. :D

I also have sitting right next to the Dell a Power Mac G4 Dual 1.42 GHz w/ OS X.2. Talk about a dilemma. They are both such great OSes that I have trouble picking and staying with just one! :p

Actually, I've noticed that Safari sometimes has trouble redrawing the screen as I scroll when a page is loading (either foreground or background). But besides that, I never see problems like on Windows.

I was doing my homework in the computer lab today, and the computer had Bryce 5, so for fun I started messing around in it. I made a tree, and when I tried to change one of the settings it took forever to do something (I eventually had to force quit it). When I switched back to Word as Bryce was considering actually doing something, it took like 15 seconds to redraw the window, and each little element popped in individually. Talk about ugly...

Just be glad you don't have to run ID2 or PS7 on a Wintel box. I'm unlucky enough to have to do that on rare occurances at work...it sucks.
