Wireless router inconsistent with MacBook - perfect with everything else

Here's a fun one...

I'm running a Buffalo WHR-HP-G54 wireless access point and router with the stock firmware. It's running in mixed-mode 802.11b/g and WPA (TKIP) security.

My MacBook (Core Duo) has intermittant problems getting a DHCP address. For a number of days everything works 100% then one day it gets nothing but a self-assigned address. The MacBook "sees" and connects to the access point...just no DHCP address. I've tried setting a manual IP address but that doesn't get me onto the wireless network.

What's interesting is the rest of the devices on my home network have no problems with the access point. They are:

PowerBook G4 (802.11b)
HP C6180 printer (802.11g)
Nokia E61 mobile phone (802.11g)
Xbox 360 connected via a Linksys WRT54G router (running 802.11g in client mode)

I've turned off various wireless devices to see if one of them is causing interference but it doesn't resolve the issue with the MacBook.

Turning Airport off/on on the MacBook doesn't help. Rebooting the MacBook doesn't help.

The only way to get the MacBook's wi-fi running prpoerly is to reboot the router. Unfortunately it's a matter of days before it fails again.

Here's my dilemna... I'm thinking it's an access point issue because a reboot fixes the problem, however a myriad of other devices work flawlessly.

Or...considering that every other device works properly it could be a flakey Airport in the MacBook.

Any ideas about resolving this problem?

Thanks.
