hello
i have a motorola WR850G wireless router, and i have a cable modem for my internet, and i want to access internet on my macbook through wifi,

first of all will it work , n second ive followed the instructions on the router n its not workin, do i have 2 do somtin on my macbook inorder 2 get wifi ?
 
Run the Airport Setup Assistant. In Finder, pull down the "Go" menu and open the Utilities folder.
 
Yes, it will work. Make sure you first set up the router by plugging in via ethernet and accessing the router settings. You'll need the manual, but the address is through your web browser to adjust settings on the router is http://192.168.1.1 by default.

Once you do that and set up a WEP key, then go to apple menu/Locations and set up a MY WIRELESS, or similarly named. You should be good to go.

I don't think you'll need to use the Airport Setup Assistant to get this accomplished.
