Okay...

For the first time... I actually was running OS X when I went to load pictures from my Coolpix 990 digital camera. I plugged it in, image capture loads and asks me what I want to do, copies them all into automatically and will even do some post processing.

I realize most of you know this... but this was awesome. Apple rulez.

Yes, this is cool.

My PC using friend has a Canon Digital Elph S10 that he uses, so I asked him to bring it ovver and we'll see if it works on OS X. Well, he brought it over with the USB cable and plugged it in. No load. Remembering Steve's little "Mishap" with the shut off camera I said.. "Uh, did you turn it on?" He said "Oh, no.. Ok.. it's on." Sure enough two seconds later the Camera icon appeared and started bouncing.

All with no extra software. Gotta love that. :D

I had that same experience with my digital camera.

I used OSX for a couple of months and agreed that it was easier and more fun than either Linux or Windows. However, it wasn't until I plugged my camera into the USB port that I realized, "Oh, that's what they mean by ease of use."

Under Linux, even though gPhoto is awesome, I had to handle all the computer <-> camera tasks. Now, I can get my wife to do it too :)

Me too... ;)

I just had this happen with the newer sandisk CF reader. I plugged it into my iBook just to see what 10.1.1 thought of it (if anything). Image capture came up, and I was so surprised and pleased that I could finally use my digital camera (Nikon CP950) again, I started dancing around the room (not a pleasant site, I assure you :) ). Hooray Apple! It's like Xmas in December... Oh. Yeah.. :D
