Write a Song

My band has already recorded over 5 song demos for our upcoming CD, but we're having trouble writing more! I need some advice, what's the best way to come up with a great melody for a song? It's a lot harder than it looks (writing/playing songs) and i'm just beginning to find that out. So what do you think could be helpful to me and my group right now?

All comments are welcome.

I've got a great one. It's in norwegian, but you shouldn't have any trouble pronouncing the words if you know some german :D

Melody: Postman Pat

Postman Pat, Postman Pat, kjørte over sin svarte katt.
Stakkars lille pusen - splætta nedi grusen,
med blod og hjernemasse over alt

I am writing this form memory, words are not the exact one.

Year 1969, interview of King Crimson leader Robert Fripp, in Melody Maker.

[MM]_"How do you find such melodies ? How does Pete Sinfield find such words ? What's your motivations ? Your objective ?"

[Robert Fripp]_"Well, all King Crimson members at the time felt ill, bad with life. They were caught in a negative circle. All our inspiration comes from our despair, in such a way that, when a member came to know bliss and happiness [such as Ian Mc Donald when he got married], he left the band and waited to be sad again to come back."
