Wundermoose and Internet Connection

Hi everyone,

I just recently ran into a problem. I can manage in the terminal but by no means am I an UNIX expert. I gave the Wundermoose Apprentice a try Wundermoosen.com but since I installed it I've been having internet connection problems at home, not at work. At home I'm using a cable modem from Comcast with dhcp and at work I connect thru the LAN via dhcp.

So my question is, could the application make any changes that would alter how the modem communicates with the system and if so, how can I fix it? I've only posted here since the problem may be related with this UNIX management software.

Thanks!

TMA is a power tool and can be used or misused. If the user has enabled the firewall option or changed any of the rules in the firewall, it is of course possible that TMA could block DHCP requests. By default TMA has a rule to allow DHCP but there are a great many things a user can do to block proper operation by changing firewall rules. An easy way to tell if it is the firewall settings is to simply disable the firewall in TMA and purge the rules. If things start to work then review the rules. The firewall is the only part of TMA that could cause problems with DHCP. It is simple to fix. As I said by default TMA allows DHCP, I am using it now over a RR modem.

Technical support is available by e-mail for FREE at "support@wundermoosen.com". Most support is handled within 24 hours. It would be far better to simply ask the author than to ask such questions third or forth hand from a forum.

Thanks for the reply, Moose.

The first thing that I did when I suspected TMA was to email support.
Unfortunately I still have not received a reply.

I'll certainly check out the firewall setting.

Thanks again.

We must not have received it then. If we don't answer in 48 hrs send it again. I have traced through all the received support mail and can not find anything on this subject. Try again. I would like to follow up on this but need to get some specific data.
