XServe Help

Hi folks. I am new to the networking stuff, but not to ther Mac, for that reason - my boss asked me to set up a LAN for our business. We have an XServe, RAID, and 5 Pcs, as well as a gaggle of Macs. :)

Only one Network line... can it be done? Thanks for your thoughts!

OK let me clarify the situation a little bit - I was in a rush and had to save my clarity for another time. :)

My company is upgrading from a dinosaur Compaq server, with 4 18 Gig HDs.....ouch....To a G5 XServe 2 x 500 Gig, XServe RAID - 14 x 750 Gig. However, I initially attempted to set it up - but for some reason, the PCs on our network are NOT finding the Groups or the XServe. We have about 4 PCs that we would like to get set up on the Server to put Administrative files on, and two Macs. The Macs can see the XServe fine, but the PCs continuously give me "The file or folder is invalid" or something to that effect whenever I try to connect using a New Network Place shortcut. Ive never understood why people subject themselves to the horror that is the PC! :) If anyone has any suggestions - or things I need to clarify on, please give me a holler - I will clarify in detail as I have just about tried everything - times three. Thanks!!!

So I th ink I may have figured the problem out... inconsistencies in the IPs oon the network. The IP on the server is way off from the IP that the rest of the network is on. Is there a way to change the IP of the machines I am on? I have 2 ports (ethernet on the xserve, and 2 on the raid) but the RAID IP I am thinking doesnt matter too much, right? Thanks in advance!
