YellowDog Linux binaries on OS X?

Okay, I've just gotten into the whole UNIX/Linux scene a while ago. I'm just going to be a freshman in highschool, and the stupid persons there decided that windoze would be the way to go. anyhow, i know that Linux has lots of windows networking tools, and for that matter windows compatibility emulators, and i was wondering if i could use them on an OS X system. right now i use YellowDog linux 2.0 with the new 2.4 kernel on an imac, along with mac OS 9.1.
I strongly suspect that i may just need to add the GNU C/C++ libraries somewhere in the OS X system archives to be able to run them. I just need to know if anyone has ever attempted this before, and if so has it worked.
Thanks for your help!!!
GO apple!!!
