I have two computers, one an old Dell I use infrequently but still need it, the other a Mac Mini which replaces a Linux based Gateway. Both connected thru a Belkin KVI switch to use the same monitor, mouse & keyboard. Now the Mac apparently needs its own keyboard (with the command key, etc.)...

Well, it worked but I have no idea what I actually did! There was no aq8hicsg.default in the login at account preferences, but I did use the (-) to eliminate almost all of what appeared to be superfluous anyway and I suppose that pesky folder was tied to one of them. Thanks again.

Every time I restart my Mac Mini (this does not happen on my G5), it opens with a folder labeled: aq8hicsg.default which in turn contains a lot of files whose purpose is obviously technical. Why does this folder always appear in my restart or start procedure? It doesn't seem to...

I am guessing it's the way I type, seems like I need to really "bang" down on the shift key, I find it hard to believe I need to do that especially since I type with only two fingers ("hunt & peck") and so I do tend to bang down. Have had this with every keyboard I've ever used, guess it's me...

Thanks for the reply. I'm not about to try anything that "might" work with the Mac, at least not for $170+ - but the last one sounds interesting, and only $23 or so - I assume it works with any computer including the Mac - when I return from my vacation I'll have to investigate it further...
