I figured it out, it was in login items!

When my PC is turned on, everytime I reboot my macbook I get a prompt asking me for a user/pass to access my PC server. It seems finder is automounting 1 folder from the PC, this appear in finder at the top level when I click my "macbook"...... Where exactly is the setting that is causing...

I have a drive connected via USB 2.0 It's newly formatted with 2 partitions. Running 10.5.6 on a macbook. The drive seems to work fine, the problem is whenever I reboot the two drives don't mount in finder. When I look in disk utility. I can see the drive listed but the partitions are...

I can never use it due to the fact the scrolling is so painfully slow, never found a solution for it either

Is there any way to see exactly what files and folders are created(and where) when I install an app?

I search high and low for an answer to this but could not find it. If I want to insert the command symbol in an email or text document on my system how do I do it? I've seen it written many times and even have it in my clipboard now ? but have no idea how to make it myself?

Even with all the plugins QT still doesn't open some of my mpeg files. Perian.org is a useful all-in-one codec..but still doesn't play everything like VLC does.

Not every app has tabs. I remember this was one of my biggest issues when first moved to Mac, switching apps and documents. Especially since on Windows I would always use the taskbar. Now I use Command-Tab, Command-` and expose alot. Still gets cluttered sometimes though.

ok, I cant get into safe mode, after typing fsck -f it hangs on this: "I0ATAController device blocking bus I0ATAController device blocking bus I0ATAController device blocking bus I0ATAController device blocking bus I0ATAController device blocking bus" Is my hard drive screwed?

I'm trying that now. Before though I haven't been able to get past the white apple screen again... I booted from the CD and tried to verify/repair disk and got the following message: "Repairing disk failed with error Could not unmount disk"

I tried that, and even disk utility began to hang when running off the DVD. I did repair permissions fine though, but when I came to repair disk it had problems.

Another update: It appears while the apple screen is just sitting there. If I plug my powerbook into the adaptor it will get past it.

update: Now I cannot even get past the Apple screen :-(
