i know this is digging up an old thread, but i'm having the same problem. my installation disc is 10.4.7, but when i tried to install boot camp it said i needed to update my system software. i did, and i seem to be running all the latest firmware and stuff, yet bootcamp still tells me i need to...

bare in mind i'm rather new to Macs. I tried the repair permissions thing, no luck. what if i took a carbon copy of a friends macmini who's got bootcamp, osx and xp running fine? how hard is it to do this? perhaps you could point me in the direction of some instructions? thanks for the quick...
