they have the icon for files, not the word doc icon. they are openable by ms word, but not readable. tried to change into .txt .rtf, .pdf etc and sometimes a msg appears that the encoding is not correct while opening. if it opens, then it is not in readable format.

well, some files have .doc ext and some are only 'file' (s).

i'm using ms word 2003 in win xp. don't know about the mac version, someone else has provided me the documents. thanks a lot for having a look at it. if there's any solution, it'd be highly appreciated.

i have some .doc file, created in mac os. how to read them in windows xp (service pack 2) ?? please anyone refer any software or any way. best regards.
