Try booting up in OS9. Then if it works, your OS9 System folder is OK. This did the trick for me once - OSX somehow recognizes the OS9 system. Good luck.

I had a bit of trouble for the F14 and F15 keys to work as I wanted at first. I put them on the HotKey list in MaxMenus by using a combination with another key, for ex F14 and Command. Then with that working I changed the combination back to only F14 (without the Command key). You can do that...

In MaxMenus in the HotKeys section I got F14 and F15 new functions to stick (opening selected folders). Perhaps you could try this app instead.

I'm confused over which external firewire drives are bootable. I have a 30g LaCie fw drive which doesn't turn up as an alternative install disk when I boot up from the OSX CD (although my Ipod and G4 powerbook in FW mode will do so). Does this mean that the LaCie drive is not bootable? Or does...

hi nkuvu, i tried your tip about the chown command in Terminal. I tried clicking on command-I and changing the privileges on the startup disk. By doing this, all the files except these 2 (from HP) were erased.

I have read all the threads about how to empty the trash in OSX. Nothing works. I have 2 Help files from HP that refuse to erase. I'm slowly turning mad. What to do what to do what to do????????

The latest drivers from HP do not solve the problem. OS=10,1,4, G4/733. Why do I have to press the orange buttion after each print so that the next print will work?
