I am using OS 10.3.3 and am experiencing very slow printing (about a line every 3-5 seconds). I have updated gimp-print to 4.2.6 and get the same results with an Epson Stylus Photo 2000P.
It does this in every program.

You said there were Windows boxes on this network too. I don't understand why you just wouldn't use Samba (as you did install it) and have MacOSX users mount their home dirs as you would on the Windows boxes.

After playing with 7B80 I am really only left with two concerns.
This being so close to GM, there are still quite a few Finder problems but, it's better the original Finder...Much better :).
The other is FileVault. From what I understand FileVault is pretty much an AES encrypted disk...
Yeah, Half-Life may be a crappy game...
But with Half-Life comes Counter-Strike (the biggest online FPS)...

VNC is probably your best bet on this one.
I suggest using VNC4X it's a rather nice GUI wrapper for OSXvnc [ http://www.redstonesoftware.com/osxvnc/ ](which supports tight compression [or should]). It also has some nice boot up features that are otherwise a hassle to setup.

Well, I finally found an Apple Script that was workable to what I kinda wanted. The only problem with using mount_smbfs is that it takes Finder a bit to find it and does not want to eject it quickly. These are the issues I have seen w/ using mount_smbfs.
As far as I have read Apple claims that if a PowerBook or iBook keeps running while closed it can overhead.
I have looked into this a bit, I would also like to be able to continue downloading or what ever and just have it turn off the monitor.
