Okay, I did as you said, and nothing seamed wrong with the hardware. I then restarted the computer and.... IT WORKS FINE. I have no idea how that works, but it does. Thank you very much for your help!

I say a post on a forum about photography that was talking about that. Apparently, if you use a Nikon, the software that comes with it allows you to do that. The post didn't mention if the guy was using Mac or PC though.
