Not showing hidden files in finder

Ok, I'm feeling pretty stupid today. At some point on this particular machine I enabled finder to show hidden files. I can't remember where I set this at and I cannot find it again it seems. Can anyone point me to where this setting is found? I'm stumped and feeling stupid. --gdif

    emacs colors?

After playing around booting in console mode and using text based software a bit, I'm thinking that the curses library is, shall we say, incomplete. I've not even gotten inverse text in console mode. I'm going to try compiling and installing curses. --gdif

    Fully Qualified Domain Name???

The solution to your problem is in /etc/hostconfig. This file is used instead of NetInfo to set the basic networking options. You'll need to reboot after changing it though. I've not figured out how to restart networking fully without a reboot. --gdif

    Sendmail

It's not working because it's sleeping. Check your /var/log/mail.log and you'll see entries like this: Mar 24 19:52:15 localhost sendmail[1700]: My unqualified host name (localhost) unknown; sleeping for retry Mar 24 20:01:00 localhost sendmail[1741]: My unqualified host name (localhost)...
