    Apple SMB Support oder SAMBA? For DAVE you needn't uninstall anything installed with OS 10.x (thus the SMB-Support). If you're talking about SAMBA then look into the Samba-Directory. There should be an uninstall-script...

    MicroDrives ?

    I have one 340MB MicroDrive in my Casio Camera and it's working just fine. OS X 10.1 had no problem to recognize it (it's not being recognized as Camera but as Harddisk). But I don't know if it will work standalone, without the camera 'wrapped' around it.

    After the 10-19-01 security update

    That's not really a 'weird' OS X Version. ;) Just click at the Versionstring in the About-Box an you'll get the Build. Another click reveals the Serialnumber of your Mac.
