SMB uninstall

Apple SMB Support oder SAMBA?
For DAVE you needn't uninstall anything installed with OS 10.x (thus the SMB-Support). If you're talking about SAMBA then look into the Samba-Directory. There should be an uninstall-script...

OK. Exactly what I have to do?
Is there a guide to set up this DAVE unistalling what I needn't?

I never had luck wtih Dave in OS 9. It always gave be "WINS" server errors, which I don't have any of those on my home network. Dave seems too complicated and unecessary for OS X since Samba can do the same thing, free and open source.

I've only had luck with Samba on Mac. Dave has never worked right for me. I'd suggest not spending money on Dave unless there was a specific reason you needed it. If you get the full OS X install of Samba, you can actually share files on your Mac HD throughout the network, same as with dave, but yet again, free.

In other words, 10.1 only comes with Samba that lets you connect to Win shares, but downloading and installing the full Samba lets you "Share" a "Share" as well :)
