OSX seems to take an age to start up on my iMac. I've worked out what the major delay is - the progress bar halts at "Configure Network Time" (or something similar) and sits there for about a minute. I'm not connected to a network. Any explanations for this behaviour, and can I stop it...

I'd be interested if someone can sort this out, but I was puzzling over it when I discovered wClock, which I think is better. No font choice, but at least it's in the system font rather than Sand. Plus it's got a cool icon and it's much easier to configure. I think it's at versiontracker.com.

I downloaded these and they both do the same thing: start to load and then abort. The dock even shifts a bit to let them in, then shifts back again, without even an error message! Can anyone tell me what's wrong?
