Thanks for the info! occasionally i see it listed as sbin/fsck -y or something to that effect... is just using fsck -y sufficient?

apple's G5 support site says to use the install disk and use disk utility when Tiger is the installed OS rather than booting the computer into terminal mode and using fsck -y to check and repair hard drive? why is it not Ok to do it directly from the boot method? Thanks!

i want to copy the files [Mailboxes] from my Cube Mail to my new G5 but when i look at them in Library/Mail the format is different in the G5 than the Cube? is there a way i can copy over Mailboxes from my Cube to the G5? i was hoping i could do it without using the Migration Assistant...

i recently got my new dual G5 and transferred some files by connecting from my Cube via logging in through my router after logging in as admin on Cube so i could access all files... all of a sudden today i can not log in to the Cube as admin nor connect as a registered user via my G5 with...

i am trying out Camino and it is really fast and downloads are extremely fast on my machine... i downloaded a 92mb file in less than five minutes!!

i set up several POP accounts and set the prefs to check automatically when checking mail... when i start Mail it only checks my .mac account and i have to click 'get mail' to get the others?? does 10.4.2 address this problem? i just got my new dual G5 and have not done the updates...

i was looking in my prefs for mail and see folders containing various mailboxes i have within my account.. can i drag these to my new G5 pref folder for just the ones i want to transfer?

i really just want to move files and stuff i mentioned, not user settings/prefs.. i will set those up fresh on the G5... can i just move my email files alone to work with Mail, iPhoto photo folders to work with iPhoto, iTunes music files to work with iTunes etc?? Thanks!
