You could also try booting with the option key down. That should show you if it recognises 9 and 10 as viable systems. Michael

I had a similar problem with an external LaCie drive. It turned out to be the power supply failing (it blew up before I could shut the HD down) rather than the HD itself, which is still going strong. You might be lucky too. It's worth checking the power unit. Michael

Sophek, This may be a bit late to help you but have you tried booting with shift key down to turn off extensions? It may be an extension conflict. Michael
