A PC user has been pressing buttons on my mac! help!

Is it just me, or do a lot of Mac users have cats? I do, a lot of people who collect old Macs do. I agree. Unless, of course the Windows user also is a Mac user.

    Imac 233 mhz

Do you know how much RAM it has? I had a iMac G3 first gen 233MHz a while ago with 96MB RAM. I ran Mac OS 9 and Mac OS 10.1 pretty well on it. It was actually very useful except that websites didn't show that well. For web browsing in OS 9 you can try Classzilla . It is pretty cool. Agg23

    System 7 Floppy

If that is the case then why can't I run from battery for a bit. I would think with 2 batteries at least 1 would hold even a small charge. I have used the battery reconditioning software several times and the batteries never work.

    System 7 Floppy

I think you need at least the minimal install for the battery icon to show up. Because of this, I don't think it knows that there is a battery installed when I boot from a Network Access disk.

    Not loading

What model of Mac exactly? How long have you let the Mac sit to boot? After certain updates, the Mac can take up to 30 minutes to boot.

    System 7 Floppy

That's OK. I thought you weren't going to answer though because you visited earlier this morning. Anyway, The HD would be hard to find a replacement for. It is a 2.5" SCSI drive. Do you know where to get one? When you ran off floppy could you use the battery? Thanks, #1 Rhapsody

    System 7 Floppy

Is there a way to use System 7 completely off floppies while still being usable? The minimum OS is 7.1.1. Would that be any smaller than 7.5? I currently am using the System and Finder from the Network boot disk and RamDisk+ for a RAM disk. I would like to use it as a web server, if...

Install Mac OS X using Pacifist

It has Time Machine and Spaces which both (supposedly) work. I think I will give up on this for now. I have reinstalled Tiger but now I don't know what to do with the iBook. Any suggestions?

Install Mac OS X using Pacifist

It does not have an internal DVD drive, I am booting from an external firewire drive. Scoops98 I can't use the full release because I have an iBook G3. Leopard build 9A466 will run on a G3 with a small installer modification.

Install Mac OS X using Pacifist

Because it is fun, of course. I did not burn it on a DL, I removed files to free space and then burnt it onto a SL DVD. The shrunk image works because I was able to boot from the internal HD using it.

Install Mac OS X using Pacifist

I am installing Leopard, not Snow Leopard beta. It is build 9A466. I have found out that the dmg is good because I can boot from my iBook via firewire. Why won't my DVD work?

Install Mac OS X using Pacifist

Well, I think my disk image is bad. My iBook won't boot (gets stuck at Apple logo) and neither will my Mini (same thing). I'll try installing from the individual packages again, this time only using the BaseSystem.pkg and Essentials.pkg and see if it boots. P.S. Thanks for your help kisuke3

Install Mac OS X using Pacifist

MisterMe I am installing this just for fun. I just want to see what it was like. I'm fine if it doesn't work well. kisuke3 Take a look here. It can be done, just not with the final, retail copy. ElDiabloConCaca I used Disk Utility and burned from a sparse image. I think I might have...
