well i did all that, and the install got to preparing italian localized files, and froze solid... Any other ideas?

damnit, it didnt go anywhere, it just said "There were errors installing the software"

well it wont let me install with os standard, so i went with extended, and when i made the partition 7.45 it automatically changed to 7.5. So im assuming thats normal, the install is running now, we'll see how it goes. Wish me luck :)

oh, one more thing, i'm about to erase the disk, do i want to format it as os extended, standard, ms-dos file, or unix??

The harddrive is a fujitsu MHS202040AT. The partition was exactly 8GB and it was the first partition on the drive.

I'm brand new to Mac so as much detail as possible would be greatly appreciated. :)
