    Which one?

Not sure why you thought he said that, but he doesn't mention anything about a release date for the Intel Power Mac's. And fryke's right - he mentioned in the MFSW keynote that they are planning on switching every Mac to the Intel processor this year. Only ones left are: iBook, Mac mini (I'm...

    GCC Missing Header File

Well I did eventually replace the #include <ar.h> with the actual contents of the file, but I ran into tons of other problems compiling the source in cygwin that I gave up. The one problem is I needed GCC 4 and that's just not available yet for cygwin (I tried compiling GCC 4 with GCC 3, but ahh...

Will the future software be still working for G5?

Universal binaries contain native code for the PowerPC AND x86 processers all packaged into one file, so no it's not slower.

Will the future software be still working for G5?

To answer the original question: yes. As long as developers continue to use Universal Binaries, the G5 will be just fine.

    Notice: iPod Updater (2006-01-10)

Ah, see that's right. You have an iPod that doesn't support FireWire, so it doesn't need to be connected to the AC charger after the update. iPods that work with FW and are connected via USB require the AC charger, from what I've seen.

    New intel Macs

I don't think the PM needs to be "prettier" - it's a professional's machine, not for the typical home user. It's not meant to sit on your desk and be stared at all day long. I wouldn't be disappointed if they kept the same design, but you have a good point in that the current design was...

    Internet History?

The one little fact I like about the WWW is that the first browser was made on a NeXT computer, obviously in Objective-C! http://www.w3.org/People/Berners-Lee/WorldWideWeb.html Also at the bottom I found this: I didn't know that NeXT was the first OS to have the X for closing out a window..

    Shuffle's USB = Dead

I tried this, although I knew it wouldn't work because the shuffle doesn't connect to any computer. Thanks though.

    Shuffle's USB = Dead

Hm well it plays music fine, so it's not 100% dead, but since I can't connect it to a computer or charge it, it's basically useless. And my warranty is up too :(

From Apple's website: Guess that settles it.

    Notice: iPod Updater (2006-01-10)

I think it only asks to plug it into the wall if you're using an iPod that supports FireWire and isn't connected to your computer via FireWire.

It does nothing when I connect it to any computer.

    15" powerbook vs. macbook

You'll most likely be able to buy an ExpressCard that has a FW800 port. Actually this looks like it would work: http://www.xterasys.com/e94b.htm
