Well here we go.. iEmulator announces that they will have their first x86 version ready next month, according to MacWindows.com And now Engadget is saying that the new Intel Macs will be XP bootable. I read this in one of the comments about EFI: Sounds good, although at this point I'm...

    Running Windows on your Mac

I just posted this over on MacRumors, but I'll post here for discussion. Here's how I understand it: First: Macs use EFI (Extensible Firmware Interface), which is open source. EFI is the modern replacement for BIOS. EFI does support legacy BIOS, however it's up to the distributor (Apple) to...

    The let's-boycott-stupid-PowerBook-renaming thread

MacBook is growing on me too. It's a refreshing new name yet still is similar. The whole "Power" name is getting rather old.

    Apple Announces MacBook Pro

Steve said it himself: they want to get away from the term "Power" because they're moving away from PowerPC, and they also want to get the word "Mac" into their product names too. I wonder what they'll call the Intel Power Macs? Also, anyone want to bet the iBooks will be renamed to MacBooks? :D

    Mac OS X 10.4.4 released...

I'm updated. Only thing I've noticed different is in Get Info an application is identified as "Universal" under the "Kind" label, instead of in a separate "architecture" label.

    WMV Done Right, by Microsoft!

That's what their $10 shareware version is too. The version that lets you export is $100 I believe. I doubt M$ would want to license that version :) And for 99% of users playback is all they want anyways.

    WMV Done Right, by Microsoft!

Microsoft is now distributing Flip4Mac's WMV QuickTime components for free! Previously shareware, Flip4Mac's WMV software makes WMV and WMA playback on the Mac transparent. This is huge news! http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/flip4mac.mspx
