    iPhoto sync sucks

If you have iTunes setup to launch when your iPod connects, there's not a lot you can do, except for quit iTunes when you see it opening (or use Terminal "killall iTunes" to do it faster). Just quit iTunes before you connect your iPod and watch for it to open, then kill it asap.

    Legal Concern About Music Downloads/Sharing

Right on the money! I'm a little uneasy about sharing my music with people and stuff mainly because my brothers are in a band (check them out!) and over the last 6-8 years, they've spent countless hours recording/practicing, etc. It's a very long and involved process to create an album and...

What kind of DAC does the ipod 4g use?

Your best bet is to go look around at www.ipodlinux.org - they have virtually everything you ever wanted to know about the iPods :)

    Overloading operators in Objective-C

Not if done right. If you're using a C++ library there really isn't any other way. Just declare your C++ classes as pointers (a must as the default constructor doesn't get called) and handle them like any other pointer, using "delete" to free them on dealloc.

    Overloading operators in Objective-C

    Yes, it's not a feature of Objective-C, just C++.

No dial-up port on my new iMac?

Yup, Apple's always supported better, faster technology, like dropping FireWire from the iPods in favor of USB 2  :D

    Legal Concern About Music Downloads/Sharing

I thought I read somewhere they just passed a law that made it legal??

    Xcode projects' "build" folders

Yeah, those build folders and such aren't important. I think they're only used so you don't have to recompile every time. And from Apple's documentation about cleaning:

    [ C code ] - Unexplainable drastic performance improvement

Any code that uses printf (or the equivalent) to output during huge loops will be slower, because if you're executing it with the Terminal or Xcode, the output window has to play catch up displaying all those debugging messages.

HELP!? iPod to work with Itunes 2 on OS9?

Mikuro, the problem with OS 9 is that the drivers for these iPods do not exist. I don't believe they show up on the computer in OS 9 because you still need to get the drivers for them. I know they are plain ol' hard drives, but OS 9 is not a modern OS and doesn't behave like XP or OS X when it...

    iPod Crowd - add iTunes?

How about adding iTunes to the "iPod Crowd" forum? The iPod and iTunes are one and the same virtually now.. it would make sense to put them together under the same topic. What do you think? :)

iPod Nano Freezes; Reset Is the Solution

The iPod and the system drivers are still screwy. Often I will connect my iPod and the whole UI locks up temporarily (can't move mouse, keyboard, etc). This happens also on my PC... but yeah, resetting the iPod fixes 98% of all problems, restoring fixes the rest. :D

HELP!? iPod to work with Itunes 2 on OS9?

    a) first read system requirements before every purchasing any hardware or software and b) I don't think there is any developer out there who supports OS 9 and anything iPod related.. so you're pretty much out of luck. It CAN be done, but no one wants to support an old operating system anymore...

Vista backwards compatible with XP apps? I hope not!

Not sure if it's true, but I would bet that it is. If Vista wasn't compatible, then that would be a major blow to Windows users. M$ can't afford to not have backwards compatibility anymore with such a huge user base. I predict Vista is going to be similar to Mac OS 10.0. It's basically a...
