It may not be what you want but FTP works and is a no-brainer to set up. Open apple Help and type File Sharing FTP and click on the entry that explains all. I will think about other solutions...if they come to mind!

To give any help you will need to be more specific about what you want the PC user to be able to do.....and vice versa for the OS X users going to the PC.

The PC is running Win Me The webserver is running on OS 10.1.3 on my iMac I did not think about posting it in a non-mac/unix place because I almost never touch the PC except when I have to reboot it!

I have an application that has a memory leak....it runs OK for two or even three days but then it starts to take up lots of memory (cf top) and slows the system down with paging. I would like to have some way to automatically kill it every day (say) and restart it but how to do that? I guess...
