Is he always like this? I have files on my machine that have been with me since System 7 first came out. Over the years there have been times when the clock went haywire and it created files and emails with 1904 creation dates. I merely want to change it to their "real" creation dates.

While we are on this subject, is there a software that will allow you to change the creation dates of email messages?

I have not changed the battery as of yet. However, I tried holding down the four keys you mention above and was surpized that there is no second BONG. I had done this in past and it worked. Are you sure those the the correct four keys?
