Arg. iTunes shuffling isn't random anymore.

Instead of shuffling my whole library on playback, I created a new playlist, and shuffled that. In the library, it's organising things a certain way and trying to jump around at random, but with the lists, it actually pre-re-arranges the list on the screen. This guarantees a completely random...

Arg. iTunes shuffling isn't random anymore.

I noticed it tends to pick the same artist, and it's not the artist I have the most songs from. Perhaps iTunes is using something from the current song to re-seed the random... When I program, i always try to randomise the ransomiser with a randomly generated seed.

"What would you do if your iMac broke, though?"

As a former windows user (I still use it at work (nt) but I don't have to like it) I have to say that 50% of that configuration pain is OS-related. The OSes M$FT makes are simply not compatible with a lot of hardware. My former Windows box is now a BSD box and it behaves itself a lot better...

    Stupid IE Trick

I have a problem when I click inside of certain windows and the entire window moves so that the title bar is centered on that point. Another stupid IE trick(OSX): apl(meta?)-click and move the text, but jiggle it up and down a bunch. It will give you a wait cursor because it appears to be too...

    10.1.3... running like a snail.

I've recently been experiencing some serious lag on my system as well. After installing a few apps (maya, DVD 3.1.1, etc) I have had the following problems: The system 'kept' a CD and wouldn't give it back. Pressing eject resulted in a lockup of anything I tried to open, as well as finder...

"What would you do if your iMac broke, though?"

I actually got asked what I would do if my iMac broke (because it is all one piece) by someone yesterday. I laughed and said, "same thing anyone else would do--get it fixed." That, along with the one button mouse comments are the two most common things I hear when I tell people about my new...

    Shall we invite Mac haters?

I've never seen such a buncha morons as I have seen on this ihateapple.com website. On both sides of the argument you see absolutists that argue from ignorance.

Broadband is fast on Windows? WHY?

That explains the constant beachballs when I click back into IE, the fact that sometimes I click an IE window and it moves so its title bar is directly under my mouse, and the fact that IE keeps bringing up a right-click menu when I'm not using a modifier. The apps I'm having trouble with so far...

MAC os X is very slow!!!

I get the spinning beach ball on my LiMac 800 a lot, but that's usually only in MSIE, and sometimes it gives me a ball for moving down a page. Of course, this being a Microsoft product, it comes as no surprise. I'll probably try Chimera. AIM Beta has problems with taking up 50% of my proc...

    Is Apple dying?

Actually, Dell is technically hurting, but nobody seems to notice. If you calculate their current ratio (Current (liquid) assets/Current liabilities), you find it is 1.07:1, compared to Apple's 3.34:1. Now, the generalised Current ratio average is 2:1, by which Dell falls short by 53%, and Apple...

    New iMac Recall????

I really think radiation is not an issue with this machine. There's not even a tube in the darn thing (a big cause of X radiation), and all the parts are commodity. If you don't have an Airport card, I dont think that much radiation will come out of this bugger.
