    Shut down on start up

https://support.apple.com/kb/DL1582?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US Download on wife's Mac, unstuff, put on thumb drive, insert on your Mac and startup. I THINK that's the scenario--it's been a long time since I worked with an OS that old.

2015 13 MacBook Pro Battery Drain during sleep even after clean install=

Any bluetooth? There has been some reporting it has been a problem. Supposedly OS 12.2.1 Monterey fixes the problem. Your '15 MBP is new enough for Monterey. Caution, though, any 32 bit apps will not run. (Go64 will tell you if you do)

After a restart, without opening any app, what does Activity Monitor say is running &/or taking energy?

Dropbox launches when I attempt to use Safari on iPhone11

Glad you got it figured out. You might have mis-understood my term, though. A hard reset does not delete anything. It only fixes 'hiccups' it the iOS system. For your iPhone 11: Volume up, volume down, push and hold the power button until screen goes blank and the Apple logo starts. ONLY then...

    Deleting Microsoft AutoUpdate?

WOW!!!! That space did it! Although, I had to type password that didn't appear to take, but apparently it did. Then I had to answer 'yes'. (Changing permissions was not possible, as all greyed out) All 5 deleted!!! (FWIW, before I did the above, I created a folder on desktop and dragged...

    Deleting Microsoft AutoUpdate?

The 4 hidden ones are bad enough, but I have one on my desktop that I cannot move or delete. It's starring me in the face laughing it's ass off! Every time I try to move it, all it wants to do is copy itself! :(

    Deleting Microsoft AutoUpdate?

Scratch that last resort idea! I've been to 2 different MS forums, and it seems the Microsoft AutoUpdate opening several times a day is very common--dating back a year! Only solution is to delete app, which I have. No mention of the hidden files that I have, however, as 99% of the responders...

    Deleting Microsoft AutoUpdate?

Well... Disabling SIP did not work! I did learn something new, however. M1 Macs cannot startup in Recovery mode using Command+R; that is only for Intel Macs. To start in Recovery mode on M1 Macs; after Shutdown, not Restart, press & hold the startup button (in my case, the finger used for...

    Deleting Microsoft AutoUpdate?

7.3, 6.2, 6.2, 6.1 MB. 25.8MB altogether. That's quite large in my book. :) I found instructions online to do that. Will attempt in a bit. Thanks! For those interested: #3 in this. https://nektony.com/how-to/remove-apps-protected-by-sip

    Deleting Microsoft AutoUpdate?

I have deleted Microsoft AutoUpdate app and many 'periferials', but 4 large files remain as they are locked and cannot be unlocked, at least bye traditional methods. Any idea how? (if they were small, I'd let them ride, but they are quite large! These are the files, and one of the 'Get Info's'...

    Folder item count

Simple question that I cannot find anywhere! Please--where is it. New MBP and cannot find setting anywhere to get the item count along the botton of any folder I open. Always had it on my old MBP, but somehow lost it. (Have tried finder prefs, all system prefs, and even all of TinkerTool)

MBP & iPhone. (read my 'signature') I sync with iCloud partially. Not Safari. (I could, though). Don't I have to delete all the phone's bookmarks 1st???
