    Anyone notice that Firefox sucks?

I have been running it all day on 3 powerbooks with NO problems at all. Speed is greater than all others (including camino, which has "some" compatibility issues - firefox only 2 sites have been a problem so far)..... not sure except cache issues could be a problem. You would not notice them...

    Drive Image backup

I am looking into the first question. As to replacing the drive, there are some videos on the net that show the procedure, but basically you turn over the mini, and insert a putty knife into each "side" and pop the bottom off. The case is basically snapped together. see...

    !!! 12-inch PowerBook G4 Wanted !!!

I have to weigh in here....I have a 12" and 17" powerbook (both 1ghz models from ebay) and the 12" lasts 4 HOURS on a single charge. I have NO complaining about that. and its not a new battery, been charged hundreds of times already. I use the 17" as a desktop and take it with me between...

    Backing Up

I would use a backup program to back up the drive as a whole, and then selectively restore what you need. That way a week from now you won't say 'oops...forgot about this file or that' I use 'Synchronize X!', by far the best OSX backup program I have tried...and I have tried them all.

Mac Mini: do I need a screen?

Yep, just a flash disk that installs in the IDE socket on the motherboard. Preloaded and configured for the purpose of making a NAS Raid. Works really good....and you can't beat the price!

    Speed bumped Power Books?

No point in waiting for any Speed Bumps in power. I have been a computer programmer for over 20 years. I am a HUGE consumer of gadgets and have been on the computer upgrade band wagon for 15 of those 20 years. Getting a new PC or notebook every 6 - 12 months. I left Apple products just before...

Mac Mini: do I need a screen?

I am a semi-pro photographer. All of my RAW files are 8-12MB each. Each weekend I shoot 2-3 hundred shots, keep about 100 or so. Processed images are 20-60MB each. 10,000 + mp3 files, 3 powerbooks with 60GB drives, all 2/3 full. And its just me and my wife. So far we occupy over 350GB of data...

Mac Mini: do I need a screen?

PS. They require no monitor, mouse or keyboard after setup (which takes about 10 minutes). They have a web interface that you can perform any task from.

Mac Mini: do I need a screen?

I am a HUGE mac lover so don't start flaming this please. I buy as much Apple merchandise as possible to support them. But I have a MUCH better solution for a file server. I am using (don't work for them) 2 Rebyte servers in two different locations that sync to each other for data protection...

Powerbook 12" 1.33Mhz hard drive replacement

Its pretty easy in all the power books. Simply remove ALL the screws in the bottom of the cabinet and then the top (the area where the keyboard is) will seperate from the bottom shell. Be careful not to pull away to quickly as a ribbon cable or two will attach to the top shell. Unplug the ribbon...
